Captain Domenick Micillo, USN (Ret.)

Sharing a common birthplace with Father Capodanno of Staten Island, New York, Captain Micillo graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering.

Captain Micillo completed a 28 year active duty U.S. military career that included naval aviation, Flag Secretary at the U.S. Naval Academy, Defense Attaché’ diplomatic assignments to Malta and Jamaica, duty at U.S. 4th Fleet as well as U.S. Special Operations Headquarters, and numerous duty stations around the world. Following the Navy, he served as Development Director for a leading nonprofit crisis pregnancy center network throughout Florida until retirement.

He and his wife Terri are the proud parents of two wonderful daughters, and make their home in Ave Maria, Florida.

“As a boy, I remember riding in our family car along the newly commissioned Fr. Capodanno Blvd in Staten Island, and asking my Dad about this great man. As a Catholic Italian-American Naval Officer like Fr. C (BTW with a Confirmation name of Vincent!), I truly believe he intercedes for us and will one day be a canonized saint – and I commit my best effort to the Cause.”
