A trailer is now available for the new documentary film about the Grunt Padre. This film — a partnership between the Father Vincent Capodanno Guild and EWTN — will be about the life and heroic death of Servant of God Father Vincent Capodanno, a Medal of Honor recipient.
George Phillips, the chairman of the Father Vincent Capodanno Guild explains how the project developed in an effort to further the Guild’s twofold mission. He says, “The first is to raise the funds required to support the cause for canonization. The second is to make the story of this servant of God as widely known as possible. We came to conclusion that while we were spreading the word through presentations, mailings and personal contact, we weren’t doing enough.”
That’s when the guild decided to make a film. The documentary is being produced by award-winning filmmaker James C. Kelty and is set to air on EWTN sometime next year. DVD’s will be available to donors who support the Guild with a gift of $20 or more. These donations will help pay for Guild expenses associated both with the Cause for canonization, and to further spread the news about our priest hero.
