William Kirst

Board Treasurer

Originally from Los Angeles, California, Bill earned a B.A. in Political Science from Loyola University of Los Angeles, and an MBA from the University of Southern California. He holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license from the State of California.

He spent most of his career with the global firm of Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) as a Partner and spend 20 years with the firm living and working in six countries (Italy, Iran, Poland, Russia, Germany, and Switzerland.

After retiring from PwC he served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Diocese of Arlington and then CFO and Chief Advancement Officer for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA. Thereafter, for a decade, he held the position of Associate Professor and Director of Accounting Programs in the Busch School of Business at the Catholic University of America.

Bill also served as a US Navy Officer for seven years, including six months in Vietnam, and later as an Intelligence Officer in the Naval Reserves.

He is a widower who resides in Washington DC and has six adult children.

I first learned of Father Capodanno and the Grunt Padre book in 2001. Father Mode was the guest speaker at the Catholic Information Center in downtown Washington, DC and autographed his book for me. Each time I re-read it, I thank the Lord for sending us this manly and holy priest who is a great role model and inspiration for young people, and especially those serving in the military.
